A licensed master electrician may apply for a separate license to install alarms as a qualified agent. (Master electrician requires 8 years of work experience as a journeyman or 4 years of on-the-job experience gained under a master-level electrician, if also national certificated as a journeyman electrician, and must pass the state exam for master electricians).

Video surveillance installers must pass a background check and have a document certifying that they will be working as a qualified agent.
